I am a stay at home mother of two, a 16 year old and a 18 month old. Life with my big kid went extremely smoothly from the start. He slept well, ate well and was generally a very mellow baby. Because of this I falsely believed my new little man would eventually magically fall into a routine. Because my baby was a premie and because I wasn’t returning to work I didn’t feel a need to rush him into a routine. At 15 months we were still up every 2 hours for a bottle and rocking back to sleep. My little man only slept a total of 8 hours a night including all the wake up times. Nap times worked the same except they only lasted 45 minutes at the very most unless I held him for another hour or so. Needless to say I had very little sleep nor was I able to accomplish anything throughout the day. After one particularly long night I was up early watching the news when Shan appeared talking about sleep patterns. Although I wasn’t convinced this would work for our family I decided we needed to give it a try.Within a week my little man was sleeping 10.5 hours on average each night and having a solid 2 hour nap every afternoon. We have been at this for a few months now and can not imagine ever going back to the way it was. Little man is happier, Big brother is definitely happier, Daddy is happier and Mommy now sleeps and accomplishes so much more each day! My husband is so happy and impressed with the results that during a recent conversation regarding training our new puppy my husband wanted to know if we could bring Shan back to help us help the dog adjust!
